WAFU RESTAURANT

Sunday evening, we wanted to try out a new Japanese restaurant in Greenhills named WAFU  meaning "Japanese Style".  Been hearing a lot of positive feedback about this place so we were pretty excited to go there.

As you enter, immediately you'll notice the high ceiling, lotus pod shaped seating and overall contemporary feel of the restaurant.  There are shelves displaying bottles of sake and sake barrels.  Busy night and we had to wait a few minutes for a table.  The receptionists at the entrance were friendly however I hoped they were gracious enough to offer us a chair and the menu to check their selections while waiting.

Looks very modern, the lotus pod seats are ideal for dates or small group of friends.  There is a second floor which will be the future Teppanyaki area. This we've got to try once they have their Grand opening very soon.  They also have a room on the 2nd flr, for private parties of 10-15 persons.

We actually find the food reasonably priced with the quality and service provided.

Their bottomless iced tea Php120.

Salmon Sashimi

Neo California Roll - made of crab stick, cucumber, avocado and Salmon Php 299.  We liked this very much, delicious!

Tofu Steak for Php 270.  Very nicely prepared, crunchy on the outside and super smooth tofu inside.  The sauce tastes just right.. not too sweet or salty.

Chicken fried rice Php90 per person.  This is so yummy.

Shrimp tempura Php524, did not disappoint.  Again we loved it!

Chicken Teriyaki Php320, also a winner.  Chicken and green beans perfectly cooked!

And finally, the star of the table, Angus Skirt Php955.   Cooked perfectly medium well.  This is just so delicious!  The sauce is perfect, the mix of shitake mushrooms and crispy onions on top complements well with the meat. A real must try!!

Overall the service was pretty good.  Surprisingly the food arrived at our table in less than 15mins which was great considering it was a very busy evening.  Waiters were very friendly and attentive to our needs.  Oh and the comfort rooms were very neat and clean.

A few tips to consider - make a reservation especially during weekends.  For sure this place will get more and more customers as word spreads of their great food.
Their basement parking gets really packed during weekends so I suggest for those who hate waiting, use the valet service at the Theatre mall, it's just a short walk to and fro the restaurant anyways.  Again, definitely coming back to this place.

Great deal, great night and great food!  Worth the splurge!

WAFU Restaurant is located at Greenhills shopping center, San Juan City
