Kanzhu : Hand Pulled Noodles

A few weeks ago, my sister brought me and my mom to this place along Timog Ave to try their noodle dishes.  My mom was craving for soup at that time so we gave this place a try.

The name itself, Kanzhu is Chinese in origin and hand pulled noodles are a staple in Northern China.  As you enter, you'll notice a very casual ambiance with an open kitchen set-up for customers to view how their famous hand pulled noodles are made.

The dishes are priced very reasonably with good quantity and quality food.

We ordered their bestseller Braised Beef Dry Noodles for Php165.  This dish is really good.  The noodles have a firm bite and thicker consistency than your average mami served in Chinese restos.  The freshness makes all the difference.  The sauce is tasty, just that right mix of sweet and salty.  The beef very tender it just shreds apart using a fork.  I really love this dish.

We also had the Pork and Chive Dumpling Noodle Soup Php 130.  The serving was really big that we only got one order for us three.  The delicious broth was comforting and the dumpling was good.

They also have milk tea drinks for Php70-80 depending on size.  This just tasted okay.

Overall, this place has changed the way I view noodle soup as a dish.  Whenever I crave for that hot tasty comforting soup on a cold or rainy weather, this will be my go to place indeed!!! How I wish they have a branch along Katipunan as well :-)
